Odie holds on tightly to the fire truck, as the firefighter warns him of tight turns.Įventually losing his grip, Odie falls into a shopping cart, which rolls down the sidewalk until it crashes into a fire hydrant. Upon hearing about another fire, the firefighter brings Odie along for the ride instead. Odie jumps into the hands of a firefighter, who plans to bring him to the animal shelter. Odie lands on the net, leaving just before the man follows suit. Odie falls down near the man, who is afraid to jump, causing the latter to fall down with him. The smoke causes the pelican to cough, eventually dropping Odie. The duo flies near a burning building, where firefighters try to get a man to jump down into a net. The fight ends after the pelican is shooed away by the barge captain, with Odie in its mouth. When he grabs a bone amid the garbage, he gets into a fight with a pelican for it. He runs away from traffic and gets sprayed into a garbage truck, which drops him into a river barge. A bump results in Odie flying out onto the street. Odie stays put on the spot until a dogcatcher grabs him and takes him into his truck. He gives him a simple command: "don't move!" To further keep his identity a secret, he marks a spot on the sidewalk, consisting of a circle with an "X" in the center, and places Odie on top of it. The cat disguises himself with gag glasses. Garfield explains them until he sees a photo of himself with the "no" sign. Odie ponders the meaning of some signs on the window. The duo reaches Garfield's destination, a fish shop, where he plans to eat fish. "Polka" is then shown, prompting Garfield and Odie to polka dance across the street.
It then displays "Bark" and "Don't bark", with Odie complying to each. When they arrive at a crosswalk, Garfield tells Odie that they should always obey traffic lights, with the current one displaying "Don't walk". When Odie sadly walks away, Garfield reconsiders. He is soon followed by Odie, whom he does not want to follow him. Garfield walks out of the house and onto the sidewalk. He ends up on a journey while Garfield is inside the shop. Garfield heads to a fish shop to eat and tells Odie to stay on a certain spot on the sidewalk.
